Waikit Lau, Head of Business Development


Waikit has 15 years of experience building emerging media businesses and technologies. Prior to cofounding ScanScout, Waikit was the director of strategy and business development at Scientific Atlanta (a division of Cisco) where he helped lead product strategy for next-generation media delivery platforms. Before Scientific Atlanta, he was an investor at Bessemer Venture Partners, working with early technology companies. Prior to this, Waikit co-founded and served as vice president, product and business development, for Photo.net, one of the largest online photo-databases. He has consulted for the CTO and COO at Merrill Lynch in technology strategy and operations and currently serves as an advisor to Motally (acquired by Nokia) and a member of the Advisory Board of Harvard University’s Digital Community and Social Networking Group.

Waikit holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Finance, from MIT and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
