Today, Tremor International announced an exclusive global partnership with VIDAA, a leading smart TV operating system and content platform. VIDAA is preinstalled on most TVs manufactured by Hisense, considered one of the top TV manufacturers in the world, and is also integrated into a number of premium original equipment manufacturers (OEM), including Toshiba.

Through this partnership and beginning May 1, 2022, Tremor International’s end-to-end technology platform—comprised of its data management platform, the Tremor Video DSP and the Unruly SSP—will offer advertisers exclusive access to VIDAA’s automatic content recognition (ACR) data for enhanced audience targeting, both in the US and internationally.

Below, our Chief Revenue Officer Anthony Flaccavento offers his perspective about what this partnership means for Tremor Video’s brand and agency partners as they look to optimize their media strategies for 2021 and beyond.

Q. Considering the ever-evolving TV & digital media landscape, what are the biggest challenges advertisers face today when it comes to optimizing their media invesments?

Platform and device fragmentation is one of the biggest challenges advertisers face when it comes to streamlining their media investments. With households using multiple cable providers and streaming platforms to engage with content, it’s more imperative than ever that brands deliver their ads to the right audience at scale.

Especially for CTV, capturing an accurate and holistic view of the campaign when it comes to targeting, measurement, frequency capping and other KPIs can be a huge challenge for advertisers. ACR data makes it possible to better understand the full picture of a consumer’s experiences when they are viewing your ads, including which programs they are currently watching, which competitors’ ads they are exposed to, and how all of these insights can be used to create the best ad experience for the consumer, across devices.

Q. How does Tremor International’s exclusive data partnership with VIDAA empower advertisers to solve for these challenges and unlock new opportunities for enhancing their audience reach strategies?

We’ve seen huge growth in CTV advertising and our footprint in this space over the last few years, both in the US and globally. This partnership further enhances our differentiated data and offers advertisers an opportunity to capitalize on premium supply. With the introduction of VIDAA ACR data within our platform, we’re expanding our scalable TV Intelligence solution to include exclusive OEM data blended with set-top box and streaming data, to provide advertisers with a more transparent targeting and measurement solution across CTV and digital screens.

Q. Beyond the exclusivity of this partnership, how is Tremor Video’s TV Intelligence offering unique, relative to other TV and cross-device targeting solutions out there?

Our TV Intelligence offering is a testament to the old adage that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Yes, the breadth of the solution’s audience and TV viewership data is an essential component, and one that is enhanced in exciting ways through our partnership with VIDAA. But the real power lies within the combination of this data with the flexibility of programmatic execution, advanced campaign analytics, our in-house creative expertise and our best-in-class client service informed by our team’s proven pedigree in all things video.

Q. What kind of smart TV do you have at home and what are you binge-watching these days?

I am the embodiment of the fragmentation we see in households today. I have Samsung TVs in my office and living room, but I use an Amazon Firestick. I have a Samsung in the laundry room with a Roku, an LG in my basement and a Hisense in my family room.

What am I streaming? I recently went back and re-watched all of The Sopranos and The Wire. I’m old school!
